have you traveled with refrigerated, liquid medications, in a carry-on bag, on a plane, before?
I am flying from Michigan to New jersey on united airlines and i have to bring 4 vials of allergy shot serum, that will not fit in the on quart sized bag that i am allowed. i checked the united website and it says that you can bring liquid medicines on the plane. but i was wondering if anyone had had any experience with this rule.
Also, I have to keep the serum cold, but i don't think i will be allowed to have ice. does anyone know if i can have ice or an ice pack on the plane?
FYI, I am not checking this bag, it is a carry on so different rules apply.
Medications are exempted from the bag and 3 oz. rule that applies to other liquids. Simply show them when you pass through security. Here's the page from the TSA website.

A good tip I read was to use frozen grapes. They're a snack, right? The fact that they are in bags around your medication...
Bring the ice pack. If you're not allowed to have it, they'll simply take it away. Declare it with the medication and make it clear that it is to be kept cool.
Try to bring an unopened bottle of serum if possible. If you can get a note from your doctor, that is not necessary but you may find it helpful.
The F/A's can keep it cold on the flight itself. I know because I did that when I was one. Please put it in a bag with your seat number on it. I would put whatever it was, but it was usually medications, on ice in the galley. I returned the bag to the passenger on landing. The ice is in bags so neither get dirty.
