Create Beautiful Beach Wedding Favors
With beach weddings continuing to be popular finding original beach wedding favors can be difficult. With favor stores full of shell shaped candles and starfish patterned photograph frames finding something unique for your wedding requires a little more imagination and some creative skill!
Creating your own wedding favors is one way of making something so unique that your guests will want to keep it as a keepsake of your wedding day. But when it comes to a beach wedding it can be hard to get past the seashell and nautical designs that are common for this kind of wedding.
Large beach pebbles make nice replacements for place cards with your guest's names engraved into them. Look for a professional engraver to do this for and provide pebbles bought from a garden center – large river washed stones are best. There are stores online offering engraved pebbles but having them made yourself should cost you a fraction of the price. Your guests can then reuse them as paperweights or merely decorative objects.
Pinwheels are a nice idea for a beach wedding and it is easy to make your own. Look online for a free template to download and make them from beach themed scrapbook paper.
For favors with a sense of fun why not give your guests personalized buckets and spades and then arrange a sand castle building competition with a prize for the winner. You can find nice quality tin buckets with wooden spades in beach side gift stores and there are many companies that offer inexpensive personalization or do it yourself with a marker pen or paint.
If you are feeling crafty then why not make your own wedding favors from driftwood. This can be found by scouring beaches and with every piece being different every favour you create will be unique. Consider making things like tea light holders by hollowing out a round hole big enough and deep enough to hold a tea light. Alternatively find flat pieces of driftwood which can be cut into shapes like hearts or stars. You can then paint them, personalize them and add a hole so they can be hung up.
Why not give your guests a message in a bottle? Purchase some pretty glass bottles with cork stoppers (look online for wholesalers) and write or print your thank you message on some parchment style paper which has been cut smaller than the height of your bottles. Roll your message up and pop it inside the bottles, you can also add some sand from your beach venue and a few small shells. Tie a bow around the top with some natural colored raffia.
