Potted flowers that grow well in shaded areas?
I live in an apartment in Southern California. I have a patio that gets a little sun but is mostly shaded. I am new at this and would like to put potted flowers outside but I am not sure what would do well, especially in pots. I have a Princess flower that is not doing very well (my mother-in-law gave it to me). I think it is supposed to have more sun. Any help would be appreciated!
Hydrangeas do well in pots and tolerate shade well as long as they have a little sun. The most common is the "mop head", but there are many beautiful varieties. Agapanthas also tolerate shade well and are beautiful bulb plants. Of course, there are the ever popular ferns that require shade, "airplane plants" and the wondering jew. My favorite is fusia.
