Why does my new indoor mister spirt water as well as mist? Is this what it should do?
We can't find a container large enough to stop water splashing everywhere.
There is probably something on the mist nozzle. basically, the nozzle converts water under pressure to a spray by allowing it to come out evenly through a small opening. If the opening has an obstruction or is too large, the water droplets do not split up into mist but come out as a stream of water.
Check that the nozzle is clear. This may be done by dismantling it or checking the hole with a fine needle. Be careful to to make the opening wider though or you will make the problem worse.
If it looks like limescale, soak the nozzle in vinegar for an hour or two and wash it through with clean water.
