Are abusive men rare?
I meet tons of men and they are so nice. All of my exs were kind and actually quite sensitive. I think these women make up these stories to scare young women like myself. Maybe they hate men. So I was wondering are they rare?
4% of men and 7% of women are abusive.
The victim-abuser codependency is intrinsic which is why the same people end up with abusers over & over - it enables their self-victimization. Likewise abusers will 'seek out' a victim - if they're not a victim they dump them straight-off. Only a victim will 'put up' with them.
With a board definition of violence (i.e. not just physical) the 'victim' is also highly abusive.
That is the general-case.
Sometimes a relatively normal person gets mixed up with an abuser (maybe they hides it well for a while or change) and get scared to leave. In particular if they are financially dependent on them which is again why you hear about women more so than men and that is rather rare.
Most of the time it is two-way-abuse.
