Things You Should Know About Lotus Tattoos
Every tattoo means something to the person who has it. About The Lotus Flower
Knowing how the lotus flower grows is essential to understanding its meaning. When you conjure up images of still water, like a pond, you often think of a thick green layer of algae or even sewage. I am sure I am right in think the lotus flower does not spring to mind first. But it should. Amongst this pond scum grows the beautiful lotus flower. It begins its days as a small bud, at the very bottom of still water. Gradually, a vine from this tiny bud makes its way through the darkness to the surface of the water. Throughout this process the bud remains facing downwards, it turns around to face the sunlight as soon as it gets close enough to the surface. Once it breaks through the surface of the water it blossoms into a beautiful flower. I'm sure you don't need me to point out the powerful symbolism in that story of growth. A reminder that the most beautiful of things can come from the most unexpected of places.
