Thinking of taking my wife to Catalina Island?

I was thinking of doing something a bit different this year and a bit closer to home. We have never been to Catalina Island and I thought it might be a fun and romantic getaway. Is there much to do there and would we get really bored if we stayed more than a couple of days? Also what is the best hotel to stay in for a romantic vibe? Thanks.

Stayed on the island a couple of times, its been years but when I did stay it was at the Pavilion hotel, the hotel was alright and its walking distance from the boat landing.

I myself have did the avalon tour, glass bottom and rented bikes and golf carts.
Just keep in mind that during the week around 5 or 6 pm the island shops close, There are a few eating areas and a market that stay open.
