There are lots of reasons for women to wear perfume; it makes you smell great, it can boost your confidence, and it can be an attractive scent to have on all day, brightening it up. As a result, when you get home and decide to put some on, it may smell very different than you thought it would. For best results, go to the store with something in mind that you want to get. Better yet, ask someone who works there for help. They were hired to help you find what you need. Trust their knowledge in the subject and let them point you in the right direction, it will be better than getting something you didn't expect. When you find something that you really want to try out, put some on as a test and go for a little walk. Let the fragrance really sink in, trusting your nose in the store won't always work.
Wear it right.
Although the ways to wear perfume varies between people, there are some helpful hints to get the most out of your fragrances. Avoid application to your wrists; this is a common mistake that people make, because they believe that's where perfume belongs. It doesn't. Whenever you wash your hands or handle certain things, your fragrance will be lessened. By the end of the day your perfume could be all but a drifting scent. If you're just going out for the night to a party, by all means put it on the wrists, as a short lived experience likely won't result in any major loss of scent. The best places to dab perfume are on your neck line, collar bone, and behind your ears. Be careful of other products though! If you are wearing a self-tanner or foundation on these parts of your body, the perfume could make them smudge. Another great trick can be done if you have a spray perfume. Spray a bit on your clothes on the upper half of your body. The fragrance will stay in your fabric longer than it would on your skin, keeping you smelling great for longer.

The most important factor in choosing a fragrance is making sure that it suits you. This doesn't just mean your personality or intentions; it's got to fit your budget too.
